85mm f/1.4G AF-S

Dear Nikon,

I enjoy taking portraits in available/low light. I also enjoy being able to override focus manually without having to disengage the autofocus. That's why I'm very pleased to see the 50mm f/1.4G AF-S is on the way.

However, if you can produce an 85mm f/1.4G AF-S in the near future, then I will buy one of them and a D700 to stick on the back of it.
Please do the honours...

Yours sincerely,
Adam C.

I would certainly buy one too but please, please keep the great bokeh and minimal distortion. Just improve on the CA, perhaps also the central sharpness, and if you're going to use AF-S, give us 70-200mm speed, not the sluggish 50mm f/1.4 G.

As described by bythom, the 50mm has a "leisurely focus speed" and will "drive you crazy waiting for it to reach focus."
