Dear Nikon,
If I had known that my D90 does not support Mass Storage - I would not have bought it. It's that important to me. Now I cannot recover accidently deleted or formatted cards because they cant be mounted on my desktop. Now I'm stuck in "Nikonland" and I'm limited by your software only.

PLEASE RELEASE A FIRMWARE UPDATE TO INCLUDE MASS STORAGE FOR THE D90.

Dear Nikon,

I'm currently having a D70. I was thinking of purchase a D90. But if it doesn't support USB mass storage, it's not an option. USB mass storage works on every computer, not depends to which O/S or software is installed.

Please release an firmware update which supports USB Mass Storage.

Best regards,
a Nikon user

I was actually going to take my D90 back to the store and complain that it was broken until I checked on the net and found it was deliberately made this way. I never want to be opening software just to download photos and while I sometimes use a card reader, quite often it's easier just to plug straight in.

Even more frustrating is sometimes just when you plug in the USB cord the LCD briefly flashes to 'PC', taunting you with the lack of functionality.

Really? Is this archaic option even needed anymore? Its MUCH easier and less wear and tear on the camera to just use a card reader, which is built in to all computers now.

Not to mention that the likelihood that someone will come along and trip over the cable and ruin the camera completely disappears.
