Dear Nikon,
When can we expect a 50mm AF S prime lens? There must be a general demand as Sigma are selling 50mm HSM primes but I would rather buy Nikon - so when?
Otherwise delighted with Nikon.

Put in a pre-order for the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S back in October, got it yesterday. Worth the wait, a very very nice product. Bjorn Rorslett's writeup is on target; though I'd say it's more of an improvement over the old AF-D model than he describes. Get one, you'll love it.
